Jijeong & Sogeumsan
지정면·소금산
Sogeumsan's bridges and cliff walk over the river, with Museum SAN a bus ride away.
The short answer
Stay in Jijeong-myeon to be at Sogeumsan Grand Valley early. Wonju City places its bridges and walkways inside the Ganhyeon Tourist Area, a recreation area in a canyon where two rivers join, the Seomgang River and the Samsancheon Stream; the government first designated it a tourist spot in May 1985. The Sogeumsan Mountain Suspension Bridge is 200 m long and 100 m high, and the Wonju Ulleong Bridge runs 404 m, twice the length, in the city's words. The Cliff Walk is attached to the mountain's cliff face, and the Sky Tower gives a bird's-eye view over the whole site from 150 m above the ground.
Museum SAN is the other half of the area. Wonju City places it in Wolsong-ri, at 260 Oak Valley 2-gil, with a route from the Welcome Center through flower, water and stone gardens to James Turrell Hall. It is a bus or car ride from the bridges: on the city's tour-bus timetable dated February 2026, 23 to 41 minutes from Sogeumsan, depending on the course. For the night, the city lists private lodgings, pensions, condominiums and campsites at Ganhyeon.
