Where to stay in Yongin
용인 숙소 지역
Yongin is two big days out, and the right base is the gate you want to be standing at when it opens. The Korean Folk Village, with over 270 Joseon-era structures, is in Giheung-gu; Everland, at the end of the EverLine, is in Pogok-eup, Cheoin-gu. Both open at 10:00 in VisitKorea's listings. Here is the quick answer for each kind of trip, then everything behind it.

Why stay the night in Yongin
The Korean Folk Village and Everland are both full-day parks, and both open at 10:00 in VisitKorea's listings. The way to get the most from either is to be at the gates when they open, not on a bus out of Seoul. A night in Yongin does that, and it gives you the other end of the day too: the long evenings at both parks run to 22:00.
The Korean Folk Village, at 90 Minsokchon-ro in Giheung-gu, introduces traditional culture from the late Joseon period, in VisitKorea's words. Its 2025 guide counts over 270 structures, from noble homes and farmhouses to government buildings, with costumed performers, the Korean Folk Museum, the World Folk Museum and a Pottery Exhibition Hall, and hanbok to rent. Yongin City calls it an outdoor folk museum, and the village's own site dates its opening to 3 October 1974. VisitKorea's place page lists it as open all year, 10:00–18:00 from Monday to Thursday and 10:00–22:00 on Fridays and at weekends; its 2025 guide gives 10:00–18:30, extended to 22:00 on night-operation days.
Everland, at 199 Everland-ro in Pogok-eup, Cheoin-gu, is the other day. VisitKorea's 2026 guide describes gardens, safari experiences and seasonal festivals, with Safari World, Lost Valley, the Four Seasons Garden and Carnival Square, and gives the hours as 10:00–22:00. VisitKorea's place page lists the park as open all year, with hours that change by month. Everland sits at the far end of the EverLine, so a night nearby saves the ride back after closing as well as the ride out in the morning.
The opening hours at a glance, from VisitKorea:
- Korean Folk Village: open all year; 10:00–18:00 from Monday to Thursday and 10:00–22:00 on Fridays and at weekends (place page); 10:00–18:30, to 22:00 on night-operation days (2025 guide).
- Everland: open all year, with hours that change by month (place page); 10:00–22:00 (2026 guide).
- Dae Jang Geum Park: 09:00–18:00 from March to October, 09:00–17:00 from November to February; closed on Seollal day.
The two bases compared
Our rule: stay in Giheung, by the Korean Folk Village, for a first visit, for traditional culture, for an airport arrival and for a trip that takes in Suwon; stay in Pogok, by Everland, for the rides, the safari, the water park and a second day at the Hoam Museum of Art or Dae Jang Geum Park.
Giheung and the Korean Folk Village is the all-round base. It has more ways in than Pogok: the Folk Village's site lists Seoul buses 5001-1 from Sinnonhyeon Station, 1560 from Gangnam Station and 4101 from Sungnyemun; buses 37 and 10-5 from Exit 3 of Sanggal Station, its nearest station on the Suin-Bundang Line, and from Exit 4 of Suwon Station; and bus 30 from Jukjeon Station. Two Incheon Airport buses end at the village, the A8877 by day and the N8877 late at night. And Giheung Station, where the Suin-Bundang Line meets the EverLine, links the base to Everland.
Everland and Pogok is the stay for the theme park. The EverLine ends at Jeondae Everland Station, and the free shuttle from there runs all day to Everland and to the water park next to it, VisitKorea's 2026 guide says. Bus 5002 runs from Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul. The Hoam Museum of Art, which VisitKorea lists among Everland's nearby sights, and Dae Jang Geum Park in Baegam-myeon make a second day. The trade-off is the airport: the A8877 and N8877 end at the Folk Village, so from Incheon you finish the journey by bus and rail.
With two nights, take one in Giheung for the Folk Village, one in Pogok for Everland, with the EverLine between them. With only one night, choose by the park you want the full day at.
- Giheung & the Korean Folk Village: Joseon-era houses, performances and folk museums; Seoul buses 5001-1, 1560 and 4101; buses 37 and 10-5 from Sanggal and Suwon stations; the A8877 and N8877 from Incheon Airport.
- Everland & Pogok: the safari, the gardens and the rides; a water park on the same shuttle; the Hoam Museum of Art nearby; the EverLine's final stop and bus 5002 from Sinnonhyeon.
Getting to Yongin
From Seoul by bus, three routes run to the Korean Folk Village, the village's site says: 5001-1 from Sinnonhyeon Station, which VisitKorea's 2025 guide places on Line 9; 1560 from Gangnam Station to the Folk Village entrance stop; and 4101 from Sungnyemun. For Everland, VisitKorea's 2025 guide gives bus 5002 from Sinnonhyeon Station, from the stop on the side towards Gangnam Station, to Everland. Choose the bus that starts nearest to where you are in Seoul.
By rail, the Suin-Bundang Line is the spine. Suwon City's 2021 rail page lists the Bundang Line as running from Cheongnyangni in Seoul via Ori to Suwon, and Korail dates the Bundang Line's opening to Suwon to 30 November 2013 and the Suin Line from Suwon to 12 September 2020; VisitKorea's 2025 guide calls the combined line the Suin-Bundang Line. For the Folk Village, ride it to Sanggal Station and take bus 37 or 10-5 from Exit 3. For Everland, ride it to Giheung Station and change to the EverLine, which VisitKorea calls a light rail, for Jeondae Everland Station, the final stop, and the free shuttle. On Line 1, ride to Suwon Station, which the Suwon Museum of Art lists on both Line 1 and the Bundang Line, and take bus 37 or 10-5 from Exit 4 to the Folk Village.
The EverLine itself opened on 26 April 2013. Gyeonggi Province's announcement that year gave it as about 18 km and 15 stations, Giheung to Everland in about 30 minutes.
From Incheon Airport, the day bus for Yongin is the A8877, which runs via Gwanggyo Central Station, Heungdeok District and Singal Ogeori to the Korean Folk Village (Folk Village site; VisitKorea, 2025). Late at night, the N8877, which airport.kr announced as a new route in October 2024, leaves Terminal 1 at 00:30 and 04:10 from stop 7A-5 and reaches the Folk Village in 70 minutes; from Terminal 2 it leaves at 00:10 and 03:50 from B1 gate 40 and takes 90 minutes. Back to the airport, it leaves the Folk Village at 21:30 and 02:00. For Everland, ride the A8877 to the Folk Village and continue by bus 37 or 10-5 to Sanggal, the Suin-Bundang Line to Giheung and the EverLine. By rail, AREX Express trains reach Seoul Station from Terminal 1 in about 43 minutes, VisitKorea's 2026 airport guide says, and Line 1 runs on from Seoul Station to Suwon.
- Seoul to the Korean Folk Village by bus: 5001-1 from Sinnonhyeon, 1560 from Gangnam, 4101 from Sungnyemun (Folk Village site).
- Seoul to Everland by bus: 5002 from Sinnonhyeon (VisitKorea, 2025).
- Folk Village by rail: Suin-Bundang Line to Sanggal, Exit 3, or Line 1 to Suwon, Exit 4; then bus 37 or 10-5.
- Everland by rail: Suin-Bundang Line to Giheung, EverLine to Jeondae Everland Station, free shuttle (VisitKorea, 2025 and 2026).
- EverLine: about 18 km, 15 stations, about 30 minutes end to end (Gyeonggi Province, 2013).
- Incheon Airport: A8877 by day to the Folk Village; N8877 late at night, 70 minutes from Terminal 1 and 90 from Terminal 2 (airport.kr).
The Korean Folk Village
VisitKorea says the Korean Folk Village introduces traditional culture from the late Joseon period to local and international visitors, through restored houses of the Joseon dynasty, classes, folk music and seasonal events. Its 2025 guide counts over 270 structures, among them noble homes, farmhouses and government buildings, and Yongin City describes the whole site as an outdoor folk museum. The village opened on 3 October 1974, its own site says, after building work through 1973 and 1974.
Inside, VisitKorea's 2025 guide lists the Korean Folk Museum, the World Folk Museum and a Pottery Exhibition Hall, costumed performers around the village, the performances at WanHyangRoo Pavilion and the Yeonbun show, and hanbok rental. Rent a hanbok first and spend the day in traditional dress among the houses.
Plan the day around the hours. VisitKorea's place page gives 10:00–18:00 from Monday to Thursday and 10:00–22:00 on Fridays and at weekends, open all year; its 2025 guide gives 10:00–18:30, extended to 22:00 on night-operation days. For a long evening in the village, come from Friday to Sunday, and stay nearby so the end of the night is a short trip, not a long one.
The village is easy to reach without a car: buses 37 and 10-5 from Sanggal and Suwon stations, three buses from Seoul and two from Incheon Airport, with the N8877 back to the airport at 21:30 and 02:00 (airport.kr).
Everland
Everland is at 199 Everland-ro, Pogok-eup, Cheoin-gu. VisitKorea's 2026 guide describes a park of gardens, safari experiences and seasonal festivals, names the Four Seasons Garden, Safari World, Carnival Square and Lost Valley, and lists rides including Amazon Express. VisitKorea's place page divides it into five themed areas: Global Fair, American Adventure, Magic Land, Zootopia and European Adventure. A VisitKorea travel course adds Rocksville, a zone that recreates American streets of the 1950s and 1960s.
The way in is the EverLine to its final stop, Jeondae Everland Station, then the free shuttle, which VisitKorea's 2026 guide says runs all day to Everland and to the water park next to it. Change to the EverLine from the Suin-Bundang Line at Giheung Station, VisitKorea's 2025 guide says; the same guide gives bus 5002 from Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul to Everland. Everland's hours change by month, VisitKorea's place page says, and the 2026 guide gives 10:00–22:00: a stay in Pogok puts you at the gates at opening and keeps the last hours of the day for the park.
Give the area a second day. The Hoam Museum of Art, which VisitKorea's 2026 Everland guide lists among the park's nearby sights, is a hanok-inspired exhibition hall with Korean antiques, Western paintings and sculpture, and a traditional garden, Heewon, outside, in a VisitKorea travel course. Dae Jang Geum Park, at 25 Yongcheon drama-gil in Baegam-myeon, Cheoin-gu, is a historical drama set where, VisitKorea says, the sets for Jumong, Lee San and The Great Queen Seondeok stand. It opens 09:00–18:00 from March to October and 09:00–17:00 from November to February, and closes on Seollal day.
Onward to Suwon
For Suwon, the Folk Village's own buses make the link: buses 37 and 10-5 run between the village and Exit 4 of Suwon Station, the Folk Village's site says. Suwon Station is on Line 1 and the Bundang Line, the Suwon Museum of Art notes, and VisitKorea's 2024 Korean guide puts Suwon Hwaseong Fortress about 15 minutes from the station by bus. VisitKorea dates the fortress's UNESCO World Heritage listing to 12 December 1997 and lists it as open 24 hours, all year. The trip also works the other way round, with a stay in Suwon and the Folk Village as a day trip from Exit 4 of Suwon Station; either way, a night in Giheung and a night in Suwon fit together on one bus route.
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization pairs them too. Its EG Tour, a foreigner-only guided programme from Seoul on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, runs a course called Tradition, History, and Local Life that takes in Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, the Korean Folk Village, with lunch there, and Suwon Nammun Market. See our Suwon guide for where to stay there.

Questions visitors ask
Where should I stay in Yongin for a first visit?
In Giheung, by the Korean Folk Village. It has more ways in than Pogok: Seoul buses 5001-1, 1560 and 4101, buses 37 and 10-5 from Sanggal and Suwon stations, and the A8877 and N8877 from Incheon Airport, which both end at the village. Giheung Station links the Suin-Bundang Line with the EverLine, so Everland is on the same rails.
Should I stay near the Korean Folk Village or Everland?
Choose by the park you want the full day at. The Folk Village is the base for Joseon-era houses, performances and folk museums, airport buses and Suwon; Everland is the base for the safari, the gardens, the rides and the water park next to it. With two nights, take one of each: the EverLine runs between Giheung and Everland in about 30 minutes by Gyeonggi Province's 2013 figure.
How do I get from Incheon Airport to Yongin?
By the A8877 by day, which runs via Gwanggyo Central Station, Heungdeok District and Singal Ogeori to the Korean Folk Village (Folk Village site; VisitKorea, 2025). Late at night, the N8877 leaves Terminal 1 at 00:30 and 04:10 and reaches the Folk Village in 70 minutes (airport.kr). For Everland, continue by bus 37 or 10-5 to Sanggal, the Suin-Bundang Line to Giheung and the EverLine.
How do I get to Everland from Seoul?
By bus 5002 from Sinnonhyeon Station, from the stop towards Gangnam Station, to Everland, or by the Suin-Bundang Line to Giheung Station, the EverLine to its final stop, Jeondae Everland Station, and the free shuttle, which runs all day (VisitKorea, 2025 and 2026).
How do I get between the Korean Folk Village and Everland?
By bus and rail: bus 37 or 10-5 between the Folk Village and Exit 3 of Sanggal Station, the Suin-Bundang Line between Sanggal and Giheung, and the EverLine between Giheung and Jeondae Everland Station, with the free shuttle to the park. Gyeonggi Province's 2013 figure for the EverLine is about 30 minutes end to end.
Can I combine the Korean Folk Village with Suwon?
Yes. Buses 37 and 10-5 run between the Folk Village and Exit 4 of Suwon Station (Folk Village site), and VisitKorea's 2024 Korean guide puts Hwaseong Fortress about 15 minutes from the station by bus. The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization's EG Tour from Seoul pairs the two on one guided day, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
