Gapyeong Town & the Nami Island Wharf
가평읍·남이섬 선착장
Gapyeong's rail hub, 1.5 km from the Nami Island ferry, with Jarasum in the same town.

The short answer
Stay in Gapyeong-eup, the county seat, for Nami Island and the river. Gapyeong Station is the stop for the ITX-Cheongchun and the Gyeongchun Line, and Nami Island's official site puts the entry wharf 1.5 km away: 20 minutes on foot, or 5 minutes by bus 10-4 or taxi. VisitKorea's 2024 guide makes the walk about 30 minutes. Nami Island officially belongs to Chuncheon, as its own site says, but you reach it by ferry from this wharf in Gapyeong-eup, about five minutes on board. Jarasum, the four-isle river island that hosts the Jarasum Jazz Festival, and the Gapyeong Rail Park are in the same town.
A night here is what makes Nami Island easy at either end of the day. In the autumn season, 18 September to 22 November 2026, the official timetable has the first ferry at 07:30 every day and the last to the island at 21:30 on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays; outside it, the first ferry is at 08:00 and the last to the island at 21:00. Gapyeong Bus Terminal adds intercity buses from Dong Seoul, and the county's sightseeing loop bus runs from the terminal.

From Seoul by train
Gapyeong Station is on two lines from Seoul. Nami Island's official site gives the ITX-Cheongchun as about 42 minutes from Cheongnyangni or about 60 minutes from Yongsan, and the Gyeongchun Line as about 50 minutes from Sangbong, on Seoul's Line 7. VisitKorea's 2024 guide gives both as about an hour, and its train guide describes the ITX-Cheongchun as a train with a maximum speed of 180 km/h. From Cheongnyangni, the ITX is the quicker ride.
From Seoul by bus
VisitKorea's 2024 guide gives the intercity bus from Dong Seoul to Gapyeong Bus Terminal as about 1 hour 10 minutes, with 10 departures a day. Gapyeong County's directions also list buses from Dong Seoul and Sangbong terminals. The terminal is about 3 km from the Nami Island wharf (VisitKorea, 2024), so finish the trip by taxi.
From Incheon Airport
Incheon Airport's list of late-night buses to Gyeonggi has no Gapyeong route, so go by rail: AREX to Seoul Station, about 43 minutes on the Express or 59 minutes on the All-Stop from Terminal 1 (VisitKorea, 2026), then the subway to Cheongnyangni or Yongsan for the ITX-Cheongchun to Gapyeong Station.
From Gapyeong Station to the wharf
Nami Island's official site gives the distance as 1.5 km: 20 minutes on foot, or 5 minutes by bus 10-4 or taxi. VisitKorea's 2024 guide puts the walk at about 30 minutes and the taxi at 5. The wharf's navigation address is 1024 Bukhangangbyeon-ro, Gapyeong-eup; the official site's search term is Nami Island Gapyeong Wharf.
