Room types
Understand an ondol room before booking
Ondol refers to Korean floor heating. In accommodation listings, an ondol room may also describe a floor-sleeping arrangement, so check the actual room photographs and bedding description.
Confirm how you will sleep
Ask whether the selected room has raised beds, floor bedding or a combination. Confirm how many bedding sets are included for your party and whether extras are available or charged separately. A family-room label does not answer these questions.
Check the room you selected
Look for bathroom arrangements, floor level, steps, luggage space and heating controls. A traditional exterior does not establish the facilities inside every room. If getting up from the floor is difficult, request an explicit description of the sleeping arrangement.
Learn the house instructions
Ask the property where shoes should be removed and how to adjust heating. Follow its instructions rather than changing unfamiliar controls. Treat room features as property-specific facts; neither a neighbourhood nor the word hanok guarantees a particular layout.
