Winter: know your heating and your entrance
Winter in Korea can be cold and dry. A room with the right bedding and clear heating instructions, reached by a manageable route with luggage, can make the practical difference between similar-looking stays.
Ask how the room works
Confirm the sleeping arrangement, heating controls, and whether staff can explain them. An ondol description refers to floor heating; check separately whether your booked room has beds or floor bedding.
Check the final approach
Review slopes, steps, building entrances, and the station exit you will actually use. Snow or ice can change walking conditions, so do not rely on a summertime street photograph as a current condition report.
Keep plans adjustable
Read the forecast and transport notices near departure. Confirm late-arrival instructions with the property, and save the Korean address before travelling. Seasonal guidance does not establish today's weather or a guaranteed travel time.
